I figure dwarven druids are a relic of an older animistic faith and are still incredibly important to dwarf society - they're the ones who talk to the mountain spirits and figure out if it's auspicious to mine.Related content

Love the helmet on the Deep Gnome. Which period is that from again? Germanish isn't it?

Just a random war hat/chapeau de fer. Stuff like that was all over the place from the 1200s through the 1400s pretty much.
The slits in the brim are pure fantasy, because you notice they face up, but then when you're a gnome - and in the Underdark - a lot of what threatens you is going to come from above.
