the idea behind this was pretty much expressing the way i felt at the moment. i was kinda down, not really getting along with people and feeling ignored. so save yourself, draw your shadow on a wall if you have to; if you want to make your presence be felt in some way or another

First off, great artwork. Technique is fantastic. The style of this line art fits very well for the robot and the detailing on the rock.
Now into the deeper meaning of this work... Clearly this person here is a robot of some sort. Gears sticking out his back, mechanical hinges at his elbows. He is some sort of mechanical creature.
This robot is drawing on the rock... drawing his own shadow and the words, "save yourself." Perhaps self-expression is how he thinks he saving himself. If he is saving himself, why draw his own shadow? He's just self-referring back to himself, the robot. Is he saying to remain true to yourself? It's an interesting thought that the robot would acknowledge his own robotness, but to the extent that is what is he saving himself from?
Saving himself from what? From something minor like from being bored? Or saving himself from being just another cog in the wheel? But he is still being a cog in the wheel, because he's using circular logic to refer back to himself, he's not truly branching out to new ideas. He's performing the action of what could be reaching out... he's expressing himself. But then he's only drawing his own shadow.
But perhaps what the shadow could be indicating is something much more than just his own robotness. It could be referring to some sort of light behind him. What is this light? But his back is to the light. If he was being saved, he should be facing the light, not turning away from it. We can try to save ourselves from little things in this world and put trust in ourselves. Oh "i think i can save myself from this danger or whatever." But really we fail. We need help. Help from a higher being. Maybe this light behind him is God saying, "I got your back, man." And he's ackowledging that the Lord is with him.

This reminds me of something i saw on ripley's believe it or not. Some guy made a stuffed replica of himself using his real organs. Like, while he was dying, he would take his hair out and implant it into the mannequin, and he would put all the other parts, as they were rotting, into it.
