Description
A character from Meandering who hasn’t shown up yet, but she will eventually! She’s ShineClan’s current deputy. I tried to write a description of her earlier but it turned into to lore lol.
Willowflower is strict, but fair. She was a senior warrior, and was a few seasons away to retirement before being chosen as deputy. She's Stonestar's maternal aunt, and was Tawnyclaw's mentor. She was never a big supporter of Stonestar, but she's still quite traditional, and she certainly didn't approve of the manner in which Pinefoot took power.
Pinestar chose her as deputy for political reasons: she wanted to choose someone older and respected, who doesn't always agree with her, but also someone doesn't desire power for themself. This way Pinestar could establish herself as a leader willing to be held accountable, and lend her leadership legitimacy among her detractors within the clan, all while avoiding the possibility of a coup.
After Willowflower retires or dies, Pinestar will likely choose someone who's more in line with her ideals and vision for the clan's future. Willowflower is very aware of her status as "starter deputy” though. She’s not entirely thrilled about it, but is committed to the wellbeing of the clan. And if this means she has to be ShineClan’s deputy for a while, she’ll do her duty.
