Adam Moore show Jumping entry on Not One Glance
Adam entered the arena at the trot. The rider before him was almost done with their round and had dropped two rails. Adam watched the girl aboard the big bay Thoroughbred as he posted around the jumps, Nada swishing her creamy, silky tail impatiently. He urged the red mare into a canter as the pair before them were about to take the last fence, Nada giving an excited buck as she moved forward from the two beat gait into the three. The tall man stood in his stirrups as he rocked around the fences. The girl finished and the announcer excused her from the arena. The bell rang through the indoor as Adam gathered the reins and circled. “Easy, lass..’, He muttered when Nada chomps at the bit, ready to go. They passed through the markers and took the first fence with ease. Nada was quite proud of herself and began to get excited. Adam sat back a bit as the next jump was quickly approaching. The little mare tried to rush the fence, but her rider knew what to do and easily kept her under wraps. The pair took a sharp turn to the left. One, two, three, jump! Nada tucked her knees neatly as they took the fence at a slight angle. Adam sat up and looked at the next fence, a green and white oxer. Nada tossed her head and sucked back a bit, ready to refuse. Adam stayed right with her and urged her forward and over. He couldn’t help but smile and give her a quick pat. Nada threw a happy buck as they rounded the corner and Adam issued a laugh. Turning quick to the right, Adam had her take this fence, a vertical with standers painted to look like willows, at an angle as well. This gave them the advantage to the fence after. The pair landed and thundered through the three strides to the next fence. Nada’s red ear pricked a bit as the next rider came in on a big grey. Feeling her lose concentration, Adam gave the curious mare a few half halts to bring her mind back to him. The last fence was taken a bit awkwardly. Nada had almost stopped in front of it, then last minute bunny hopped over it. Adam stuck like glue and she managed to not touch the poles at all. She trotted off, then cantered through the markers, tossing her head. “Hey now, we made good time, don’t be mad at yourself!”, Adam chuckled as her pat the sweaty horse’s neck on their way out.
