I always liked the Excelsior-class. She would be my ship of choice in the ST universe. Really great reimagining of such a great ship. One minor nitpick: you made a spelling error in the text, Excelisor instead of Excelsior.

Thanks for the feedback, glad you like it!

But I'll be leniant, and say that's how she may look in the Abramsverse.

Well Dalek of Borg, since I posted mine in 2009, I'd say I couldn't have stolen your idea unless I had a TARDIS. If I did I wouldn't be using it to steal art that I don't get paid for.

"Unless I had a TARDIS" Very humorous. The point is, that design is essentially an Abramsverse version of my USS Titanic.

Okay which I posted way before yours, so I don't see the problem. We created similar ships...so what? Yours looks fine as well.

Bear in mind that I'm not trying to flame or discourage you. I'm simply stating that the USS Titanic is quite similar in physique to that design.

Cool, sorry if I over-reacted. But I felt justified since mine was up first LOL. Will settle on great minds think alike.

That's quite similar to my design for the USS Titanic. I'll have to accuse you of art theft.

Speaking of the E-E, do you plan to do a NuTrek rendition of her next?
Oh and great job on the NuTrek Excelsior, keep it up!

Eva, thanks a lot. Haven't done any other Trek stuff lately. Not sure if I'll do TNG era stuff in the NuTrek verse. But its an area I would like to return too.

Sorry it took so long for the reply. But yeah your works are great, and I hope you can get back to doing re-imagined Trek art.

Thanks for doing the Excelsior! I definitely like the idea of where you're going with your depiction of the evolving new-continuity Starfleet design lineage.

Thanks Galaxy, I figured since the Excelsior is in the future it should be evolving mostly in the engines.

I agree. You did a very good job blending the prime Excelsior's engines with the new aesthetic created by the Ryan Church Enterprise.
One question, though - how long would she be? The new USS Enterprise is clearly, now, much longer than the prime universe Enterprise's. We've heard estimates of anywhere from 600m to 760m and even 900m where the original was just 289m, the length of an aircraft carrier.
In the prime universe the Excelsior was about 1.6 times the length of the Enterprise/Enterprise-A. So, I wonder how long the movie universe Excelsior would be - because relative scaling ensures that if the Constitution class is larger in this universe, than so would every other counterpart class be.

I heard a lot about that argument. On SpaceBattles they call her the MegaPrise. I don't really care about the size or scale all that much. Besides more room means more fun stuff inside.

Love it! Though I think if they keep with the years between the Enterprise and the Excelsior class ships come into being like they do in the orignal time line it will be awhile before we see if this in fact will be the final design of that class if it does get screen time. But I do love it and as a more sleek warrior aspect to the ship giving a "We are not going to take threats to the Federation lightly anymore." look to it.

23rd Century is the time for it. One of things I dislike about the TNG era is the lack of backbone. No I don't want Starfleet to be a bunch of militant warmongers (that's what the Mirror Universe is for) but have some stones for crying out loud!
One of my fav things from the new movie was better use of weapons, Phaser PDF for the win!

To be honest I've always hated the design of the E-D. The saucer section was too friggin large, and the inside looked like a freakin hotel. Now the E-E that's a fine ship!
Might try either a completely new Starfleet class from NTOS or a Klingon vessel from NTOS.
