Blue was in my head for some years, but to get a solid character is hard work - especially when you're using them for an RP.One thing stands clear though: She's the feeling I have whenever I listen to or play a violin. The violin always sounds like a bittersweet weeping or a call.
And sometimes, all you can do is keep playing.

As a sidenote, I'm still not happy with how this came out. XD The right arm is atrocious, but trying to correct it would probably make the character even more disproportionate.

The border flowers were random brushes I found in an old backup - if they're yours, I'm very grateful. :3

What to say about this character. When you said "Bittersweet weeping" I envisioned exactly what you were trying to put through. I even know the story of a real life person that has this exact same sentiment being expressed.

I wouldn't worry about the right arm, since its so out of the way I doubt people would've noticed if you hadn't mentioned it. I love how her tears run down off the violin from her cheeks. The background's pattern suits the work very well and the colour scheme you've used suits the work to a tee (to a royal tea, lol). Also very nice shine effect from her hair.
The one question I do have, if you don't mind me asking, is the sleeve on her left arm gives me the impression that its been torn/ripped off. Am I just reading too much and that's just how its meant to be in its fashion or was that something that you intended?

Rofl! Actually they were meant to be ruffles. >_> Now that I look at them, I'd forgotten to put in the shadows for them! O_O' Naughty me. I think it was because I was concentrating hard on her facial features and the background behind her - every time I had looked at it, it looked unbalanced until I placed the words beside her. Originally I was going to have a picture frame, but it would seem overdone.
The tear was to establish a connection between the player to her instrument. Anyone who gains something of a lifelong passion would probably feel the same. To lose it, you lose a part of yourself.
