Description
Sapeornis is a derived maniraptoran, described as one of the most basal birds (except for Archaeopteryx and so on). It is unusually large, being twice the size of Microraptor, and is considered to be a flyer. It is somewhere between Archaeopteryx and the confuciousornithids (the next birds on the tree). The preservation of gastroliths in one of the new specimens indicating a herbivorous feeding habit.Related content

I study biological sciences here in Chile with the purpose of being able to be devoted professionally to the paleontology. It is a passion that I have from boy. The drawings allow me to know these animals better and to apply the accumulated knowledge. At the moment work mainly with fossil birds of the tertiary, field that I am crazy about a lot. I hope possibly to publish my drawings in some book, up to now alone there is him I toss in local newspapers.

wow, thas awesome, i once had the dream of being a paleontologist, I love dinosours and stuff, the fact that these creatures once lived in this planet exites me; then i found out that i had the skill of drawing and i decided to follow that instead, but i promised my self that once i achieved the goal of being a character designer form some game company of prestiege, i would become a marine biologist. Anywho i feel lucky to know a person like you who has the passion for extinct animal and drawing, ^_^\m/ good job dude
