Its been forever since I updated here, so here is my latest pic of Thaylo, my weapon's dealer character. And to state the obvious, hie is a hermaphrodite. Hiz claws are humongous and hie occasionally has a temper, but usually is pretty agreeable. XD Watercolor and an old scanner. T_TRelated content

I'm not a fan of herm characters, but I do like this one. I think it's because most hermphrodite characters were created for sex appeal, and it's not uncommon for them to give them large, noticable lower endowments, which always bugged me because nearly all herm characters look just like women with a manhood. >_o This character of yours is different, having the build of a women, but a muscluar phyqiue of a man, making the gender look more ambigious.

I can see what you mean about the sex appeal thing, its kinda sad and degrading really. Thanks for your support. Hermaphrodites are usually androgynous, different from both males or females so I try an blend those together for something else entirely. Though I drew him more girly in this one than I usually do. doh ><

I don't have any problems with herms in generall, only with constant over-sexualization of characters. They just loose depth through such things and herms are often used in this kind of (let's face it) pr0n, but I see that's not your aim.
I think I'll keep on the sexually neutral resp. male cuddle monster with the occassional gender-shift to female. That sufficides for me.

Thanks, glad you still like him. I'm not fond of how sexualized herms are in anthro art, it ruins it for the ones that have genuine character and are not created for sexual reasons but rather for diversity (like Thaylo). He's just a character that happens to be a herm, its not hiz defining characteristic. And the ways they are often portrayed are pretty disturbing, which leads to stereotyping. Hermaphrodites occur in nature, and are people too just like everyone else. They are just misunderstood and discriminated against for unfair reasons, so I wanted to show they can be normal fun characters like everyone else. Plus drawing just two 'standard' sexes can get boring, while combining them gives a more difficult artistic challenge.
