Description The straight shelled version of ammonites are called baculites and they lived in the late Cretaceous and went extinct with the dinosaurs. This is my cuddly version of what one might look like. I also gave it a little squiddy beak.

It sold in my etsy store: [link]

Thanks! Somebody's gotta do it I actually don't know why it hasn't been done before! Well, I'm sure it has...but it's not easy stuff to find.

I got my new microscope and I think it might be funny do do the sam stuff with microbes - plushies I mean. Imagine a plushie of this [link] or the various algae that have flagella. One I found particulary cute looking, that would be Chlamydomonas [link]

But there are many other cute looking microbes. Like Euglena also.

Haha I think you're right. There is a great Etsy/Deviant art plush maker called WeirdBugLady that has done a couple small little microscopic critters. You should check out her stuff too if you haven't already!

These really are so cool. As ever, I like the idea, and these colors really work well together.

Thanks!! I was very happy with how this color combo turned out...especially since I had limited choices because I decided to work with scraps.

Most of my scraps would be a little too crazy for this.

man, for whatever reasons, i'm a total sucker for cephalopods or extinct animals in plush form. it's an odd thing. this little baculite is the cutest little thing. i love the color combination and the huge eyes. too cute, great job! i'm going to try to rustle up some cash to buy some of your paleo-plushies, i don't think i'll be able to resist.

hehe thanks!! I too am a sucker for extinct plush I have a hard time keeping myself detached from what I'm making sometimes, but I have to otherwise I end up with a bed full of nerdy plushies! I don't think this is such a bad thing, but the husband disagrees haha.
