man I feel like I can't draw a "serious" piece of art anymore
still sooo much to work on!

OMG!
I know exactly what you mean! I try to be as serious as possible whenever I attempt something but almost inevitably, I lose interest because I conceive another (and possibly better) idea. So I just end up fudging up the rest of the picture I'm working on. 
Also, I'm always under the impression that a picture must have immense detail for it to look nice ('cause an artist has told me so before) so I always try hard to detail all my picture to the greatest extent possible for me. @_@ However, I started to think otherwise after looking at your pictures. I swear, the simplicity of your picture is just beautiful and I think more detail would sever the effect, in fact.
Anyway, I meant to comment on how lovely this piece is~ The perspective, the way the ground unites with the sky, the colors, everything works so nicely here! And the lone figure by the side fits in perfectly with the atmosphere.

I've always marveled at artists who can incorporate a lot of detail into their work...it just doesn't seem to work for me! I'm way too impatient, especially since I use a mouse, and I get annoyed having to push the undo button every other second LOL. but I'm glad you think that simplicity works with my style...

Haha...I'm glad. I get sorta uncomfortable when I post long comments when I'm unsure if the artist likes it when I post them.
Haha...that's okay. Art should reflect whatever the artist is most comfortable with, so I don't think there should be any protocol as to "what's better."
