Description Original title, I know.

Preserving memories from SDCC before I lose them on my computer somewhere. The boys were in the back getting their costumes on and doing whatever men do, while I finished adjusting, squeezing, and squinting in the mirror before heading to the convention floor.

This is still version 1.0 of the costume + gear. I'm planning on re-doing my black body pieces and several adjustments to zipper lengths, pouches, etc.

can i ask how you made this? Did you buy a standard red suit and then sew on the black patterns? Also how did you make the mask part? Is it separate or is it part of the whole suit. And for the eye parts, how did you get it on while being able to still see through it? Sorry for all the questions but I really want to make a deadpool costume as well

I did everything from scratch. I did, however, make a mock up base suit with some throw-away polka dot (LOL) spandex to adjust the fit and to map out my black patches. The mask is completely separate with a small invisible zipper at the neck. The eyes I did with a god awful material that only let me see well in dimly lit areas (the sun in San Diego was blinding). I'm re-doing them with copper mesh + white spandex combo.

If you're not an experienced sewer, I definitely suggest getting a cheap suit and altering it to use as your pattern. The biggest difference between my suit versus any store bought ones, is I purposefully made it without outer side seams. There is one in the back, an in seam, and of course shoulders + arms.

I hope that answers some of your questions!

Twin katanas, I re-wrapped the scabbards and sewed them together for the "X" effect.

well that is incredibly great !, also what kind of fabric is that? I'm relatively new to the whole making costumes thing, and was going to start with deadpool .

Very ambitious for a first project I say! I made it with 4-way stretch milliskin spandex. If you don't have a serger, then try out a few "stretch" stitches on a standard machine. Any fabric that has a stretch to it can be finicky and sometimes a pain, but good luck and good 'poolin!
