In my mermaid making frenzy I was trying to use up a bit of stone clay, and decided to make her Arthurian themed with a sword and crown.The sword and her tail got a bit burned, but I liked the medieval-y battle-worn look of it, and added watered down brown acrylic paint to the tail and sword to even the burn marks out a but, and to make her look a bit more rugged. I added watered down gold acrylic paint to make her look more mythical.
The scales are made from iridescent glitter, and I love how they sort of blend in (or even out?) with the glaze, so it doesn't look so much like specks of glitter and more like magical scales.
