spirited away and valley of the wind. cagliostro is actual his first movie and the only one i think that was not of his original idea. lupin the third is by monkey punch and was really popular in the 70s and 80s in Japan. there are still movies that come out annually and there was a spin off with 13 episodes in 2012. you should check it out. miyazaki's portrayal of lupin is a lot friendlier than monkey punch's (miyazaki's characters tend to be "nice" for the most part). cagliostro is probably one of the best animated films i've ever seen, but i prefer monkey punch's lupin. sorry for rambling

Huh, I'm actually kind of surprised that I haven't heard of Cagliostro... Me and my sister are some miyazaki nerds... and Miyazaki's characters tend to be nice but the movies themselves have their touch of that "weirdness" that is so miyazaki. Princess Mononoke has a lot of that.

well I'm definitely adding it to my list ^^ I think I have just a few of his movies left... The Wind Rises is said to be his last one! There will be no more miyazaki films after it D: The other directors of Studio Ghibli are good, but miyazaki is just too good.
