Description An old traditional/digital painting I did a while ago.

The Castle sits on a rocky outcrop, separated from the mainland by a sheer cliff; the only way to storm it is through the outer gate-house, making it extremely difficult and dangerous for the attacking army.

Once past the first gate, the attacker has to break down the main doors, with heavy fire coming down at them from high walls and towers. Because of the layout of the outer gate-house, siege machines are almost impossible to deploy within kill zone.

The main keep is like a small castle within a castle, and nearly impossible to storm, due to intricate courtyards and passages.

Your watercolours make the castle wonderfully ancient.

That's so amazingly done! I love the colours and the textures, as well as how you played with the shadows and lights. Really a powerful but simple composition especial for a castle like it!
