Acrylic, colored pencil, and paint marker.This is a self portrait of myself, dedicated to my late brother, Romeo, who was killed in a car accident at the age of 21 when I was 14. When I was young, around 9 years old, and my brother would come home from hanging out with his friends, curious me would ask "where were you?! Where did you go?" He would joke and say "Somewhere over the rainbow." I really thought he was serious, and he even promised he would take me there sometime. As a kid I always imagined what that place 'over the rainbow' would look like, and I couldn't wait until the day I could finally see it formyself. This painting is a representation of that place that resides in me..

Disconnected from the mundane, you float above the pain & sorrow of this world to find far more meaning in this trip we call life! Your Brother obviously know this place too...as you seem to connect with him on another plane we all share some of the time! I am soooo moved by your story & the Artwork takes my consciousness, wraps it in comfort as though I too have lost your Brother & need to be rocked & told that it is all alright! & what seems now a cruel twist has some kind of reason & other to it's reality! I just want to hug you both! And do not know what to say...
