Wow, I never thought I would get a DD... amazing, and thank you!A fairytale come true...
After two months, this pentacle is finally finished!
The Briar Rose pentacle is a One of a Kind design hand pyrographed on a 7-inch (17.8 cm), solid wood plaque. It features a profusion of scrolls and swirls, with stylized wild roses throughout.
The design was drawn directly onto the wood, then carefully hand-burned using a pyrography (wood burning) pen.
No paints, charcoals, colored pencils, or other media were used; the design was created completely with a wood burning pen. (And a ruler, a compas, and a no. 2 pencil, to be precise!)
It has been lightly sealed with a water-based varnish.

I want to ask you, was the round wood plain and smooth? or did u carved it ? looks quite carved specialy in the pentagram

Hey there! Yes, the wood was plain and smooth--very, very smooth--before I started. I didn't carve it. What you're seeing is an effect caused by the burning. The wood burns, shrinks down, and indents. On harder woods, like oak, this is hardly noticeable at all. On softer woods, like pine, it gives a nice raised/carved effect. (This is pine.) On especially soft woods, like balsa, the burning pen can create such a deep indent that it looks like a base relief carving.

I used a Walnut Hollow craft pen for this piece, $15 (US) at your local craft store.

I use a super-cheap one. It's made by Walnut Hollow, costs about $14, and the "special" tips (including the fine point I use most often) cost an additional $10. Very inexpensive, considering the cost of some other crafts!
