On Saturday June 28th of 2008 Carly and I got the sad news that Michael Turner had passed away. At the time we were up at Wizard World Chicago, and I told Carly I was going to do a tribute piece to Michael Turner. As most of you know, or at least if you have eyes to see with you can tell he was a huge inspiration in my work. So I felt that this was something I had to do. I didn't know him as well as some people, but I at least had the honor of knowing him. 2 days after we got home from Wizard World Chicago, I finished drawing this piece. Unfortunately shortly into July, Carly was in a bad car accident, and she was unable to color it for a while. So I do apologize for the delay in getting this to you all, but fortunately Carly is alive and well, and she is back to coloring. I saw this piece of art at the Michael Turner Shrine. Never really realised just how much people Michael Turner inspired. He's truly incredible and immensely missed <3.

Amazing piece, I adored Michael's style of artwork and for a while it was the inspiration for my own drawings I would do. Seeing this reminds me I should get back to the sketchbook more and to my roots.

We lost a very great man. He was such a huge inspiration to me. I never met him once. He never knew I existed. However, the impact he has had on my work, is...in small words, immense, gargantuan, gigantic. I have three thumbdrives, and 70% of it all, is Michael.
His work was delicate and powerful. This piece, is utterly amazing and a great farewell. It pains the heart, when you know where this piece comes from.

Michael Turner was an inspiration for me as well, I stated really drawing because of him. I was inspired by Aspen and Supergirl to draw

This is a beautiful tribute, and you have his style captured perfectly. My favorite thing about the piece is that his signature creation, Fathom, is standing in the middle. If I could change one thing, I would have added Wonder Woman, because he also drew a beautiful version of her.

I too was very suprised when I learned of Micheal Turner's passing. I haven't been into the Top Cow comics for very long but even so, I have fallen in love with the art. And I have to say that you do him honor with this wonderful piece of work. ^_^

Thanks for creating this. Not only is it a phenomenal piece, but it is so cool to see someone honoring the memory of such an amazing guy.
I'm usually a man's-man and as tough as any other guy but I teared up when I found out about Michael Turner's passing and again when I've read all the nice things his friends, family, and fans have said in the tributes to him that have been recently published.
Rest in peace Michael Turner
And hopefully with enough practice I'll create art as well as you one day Chasen. Awesome work!!
