Personality
Zebra is nowhere near as zealous as the average quartz. She hates violence and dislikes fighting. She is sensitive, emotional, and very compassionate and supportive of others. She senses loneliness in others and seeks out outsiders in order to comfort them. She is kind to a flaw and more trusting than she should be, which makes her unfortunately gullible. She is stubborn in her views and will defend them passionately, but she seldom raises her voice and never threatens. She is proud of her feminity and has a deep desire to be perceived as beautiful and dainty, which she feels is unlikely because of her large size, muscular stature, and general quartz nature. She is infatuated with nearly every pearl she meets and wants to baby them.
Bio
Zebra was manufactured immediately before the war and, like every other viable young quartz, was stationed on earth to fight for Homeworld. Zebra's disdain for violence meant that she was a terrible soldier, but Homeworld couldn't afford to shatter defective gems when resources were stretched so thin already, so she was excused. Soon, Zebra became a good source of morale for the other soldiers, including a Biggs Jasper that never spoke. Zebra and Biggs bonded, and Biggs became an open book in her hands. The two became romantically involved and might have had a happy relationship, had Zebra not defected to the Crystal Gems after she witnessed one too many acts of abuse on Homeworld's behalf. Zebra tried to convince Biggs to come with her, but Biggs refused and the two separated on bad terms. Soon afterward, Zebra was caught by a Homeworld patrol and, deemed a traitor, punished by being poofed and sealed in a vase that could hold voices. The vase was placed in bases where spies and traitors were expected to frequent, in discreet coridors where secrets could be overheard. Then, Zebra would be forced to repeat them to the authorities, giving away her own friends. When word came of the corruption weapon, Zebra was left behind, forgotten in the vase. The ruins she was abandoned in were believed to be haunted because she would cry for help whenever she sensed someone nearby. Six thousand years later, Zebra is freed from the vase by Druzy Quartz and Cranberry Pearl, two misfits sent on a suicide mission to earth from Homeworld, and their relationship takes an unexpected turn.
