Description Apophysis + chaotica render

Generating hyperbolic geometry using the spherical transformation in Apophysis. As with many other things in apophysis getting the transforms to allign perfectly with each other is a nightmare. I had the same problem with the mobius-style flames, only then *penny5775 took the time to allign them at various levels of complexity.
If you want to learn more about hyperbolic geometry check this wikipedia [link] and also check M. C. Eschers art!

it will never be perfectly aligned, because the original flam3 implementation messed up spherical. instead of doing 1/z (in complex numbers), it does 1/(z+eps) where eps is 10^-10 i think. basically scott draves doesn't know about the complex numbers, and was scared of dividing by zero; consequently, there is a lot of drift when iterating, even though the epsilon value is small (since it's a chaotic feedback system).

aaanyway, ranting aside, this fractal is just awesome! i really like the inverted colours relative to the other works, it came out great i think

aaaaaaaaaaand now I understand that I'll never be able to perfectly allign any fractals with spherical transforms. Hey about that eps value, does any other transform work like that in apo (that you know of)?

and yes, I'm happy with the way it turned out too, it came to me while listening to the new cynic album!

oh and rings, rings2, ngon, rays, cross, scry, x

surprise surprise, pretty much all the building blocks of flam3/apo are fundamentally fucked.

i wonder if it's the same cynic musician i know from the demoscene [link]

yup, quite a few; a quick search through my implementations show that horseshoe, spiral, hyperbolic, waves, butterfly and bwraps7 are similarly embuggered.
