After watching The Hobbit the other day, and absolutely loving it! I just felt the need to draw Smeagol, there's a brilliant scene with him in the movie that I loved, he looks better and creepier than ever! It's good to see him back in the francise.So here it is, just a sketch for now

Smeagol is the name of the old before he turned to Gollum, legend said. He was once somebody, from river people, that not quite different from the Hobbits race.
Unfortunately, The Hobbit is the only one from the new trilogy where he is prominently appears.

is the hobbit some kind of unnamed sequal or prequal to those movies?

Smeagol was his name before he was corrupted by the ring. Gollum was the name given him due to the guttural sound he makes due to his corruption.
