i started this with the intention of just colouring an old sketch i found that i did in '97 ( [link] ) and just kept going as new ideas formed.anyway, the mask and most of the skin colouring was done with my mouse. but then i got my wacom and the rest was done with that
i lost count on how many hours this took, but i think it was about 80-ish.

Wow, this is a beautiful piece! I love Oddworld, I'm a big fan, so it's really fun to see a picture like this with the traditional pose of a slig, but in a new environment and with different, imaginative gear. The colors are very appropriate, and I love the detail you put into the mossy bed underneath the slig. I also enjoy the way his eyes are glowing and reflecting a red tinge on the mask. Wonderful!

Hells yeah, oddworld is awesome, but I always get shot by the damn sligs. Its fun to posess them and make em shoot each other. heh

-as some suggested, more bubbles, or at least bubbles with a bright higlight would make this look more "underwater"

I love the strong resemblance to water, yet the image is pure fantasy. I love how it looks real but it obviously isn't ...
I don't use my wacom enough, I must use it more... wacom is great... but I doubt that I'd be able to make anything as good as this...
