First Dream |
You hear the clanging of pots and pans coming from the kitchen. Upon entering, a voice could be heard. "Can you get the basil for me, hon? I'm going to try to make an herbal remedy." You watched for a moment as she leaned over the stove, whisps of steam rising from the little pot and into the air around you. The smell of fresh herbs and rose water entered your nose as you made your way to the windowsill. Placed in a small terracotta pot and soaking up the faint rays of the morning sun was a small plant. Basil.

History |
As an only child born into a family with a struggling financial situation, Basil felt obligated to take care of her parents. She made it into a relatively prestigious college in the region with a major in botany. They were proud of her, but she still felt as if what she did was never good enough.

Basil's past self was very introverted, only talking to people when it was necessary. When she wasn't engrossed in her studies, she would be found stocking fruits and vegetables in the produce section of the local grocery store. Her family needed the extra cash.

Basil was not originally chosen to be a part of Project Deep Sleep. Growing up, she had one friend that she grew very close to; someone who she trusted and could confide in. Coming from a wealthy family, it was easy for Basil's friend to get into the program. However, by the time the news of Earth's impending doom came along, her friend was already diagnosed with a fatal disease.

"I won't be around for much longer anyway... You take it."
"I'm not going without you."
"I'm not giving you a choice."
Basil's eyes filled with tears as she hugged her friend for what would be the last time they would ever see each other.

When she awoke from her small pod in the cave, she was no less than frightened. Where was she? How did she get here? Was anyone around? Disoriented, she made her way to the entrance of the cave. In the distance she could see the camp and decided to make her way over. Well, it's a start, right? The people there seemed nice, and Basil found herself at home in the garden. Though, the new creatures still needed some getting used to.

❧ Suffers from a small bit of anxiety. This is something she normally tries to keep hidden to herself, as it is not too serious a case.

❧ Relatively quick on her feet; flight-not-fight.
❧ The patches on her clothing were sewn on. More for convenience, so she could hold stuff in her little pouch.
