The extras are very good so if you're interested in "The making of..." it's a must-have. As for the movie, these 13 extra minutes felt like 4 or 5, it's not the same as extended LOTR. There are at least two important scenes which could alter your entire perception of the plot, but the rest is a kind of a wink towards the viewer - funny scenes, you know, which disperse some of the heavy, epic climate. I especially like Bofur's song in Rivendell. I won't spoil the rest for you.

It's completely out of ME climate, in my humble opinion. I mean the words themselves are okay, but the music and the goblin choir... meh.

There's a goblin choir? Hmm, what I'm imagining doesn't look so good... Ah well, I'm sure I'll probably still enjoy the extended version regardless, even if I don't like that scene. Though honestly, I'm looking forward to the extras just as much as the new scenes, if not a little more.

I liked the goblin king's song in the extended edition. I imagine when you are built like he is, there is not an overabundance of activities you partake in other than sneering, scowling, complaining, coughing, demanding, and planning up songs to present to the occasional unfortunately waylaid traveler.
That being said, I hope you come up with some interesting Oakentoons for some of those OTHER glorious extended scenes
