"before turning into a yokai pikachu was a regular mouse, until an accident while chewing on live wires. he causes random static shocks to occur and makes your hair to stand on end"pikachu was way harder to design than jibanyan. firstly, because there are very little mouse yo-kai to reference. jikochu, a mouse yo-kai, is like... literally a mouse with a crown. secondly, aside from the ones named after existing yokai, yo-kai are pretty much designed around their name wordplay in japanese. i feel like with pokemon, they design the character first and name them later. yo-kai are also very much designed around their powers, so i added spiked up fur on pikachu to go with the yo-kai powers i made up for it
also the art style is hard to replicate lol
