This awesome art of Hera from Greek Mythology is created by the very talented artist Andre Toma. This beautiful art will be a base card in our Classic Mythology III: Goddesses card set.

Hera – Greek Mythology – Hera was Queen of the Greek Gods. Hera was the wife and one of three sisters of Zeus. She was the goddess of women and marriage. She was also a goddess of the sky and starry heavens. Hera's mother was Rhea and her father Cronus. Hera was known for her jealous and vengeful nature, most notably against Zeus's lovers and offspring, but also against mortals who crossed her, such as Pelias. Paris offended her by choosing Aphrodite as the most beautiful goddess, earning Hera's hatred. Hera had six children (Ares, Enyo, Hebe, Eileithyia, Hephaestus and Eris). The cow and the peacock were sacred to her. She was usually depicted as a beautiful woman wearing a crown and holding a royal, lotus-tipped staff. Sometimes she held a royal lion or had a cuckoo or hawk as her familiar. Some of Hera’s symbols include the pomegranate, peacock feather and diadem.

It is so wonderful to see Hera young, happy and smiling. Too often she is simply shown with no smile (or a bitter one). So, honest and true, thank you

I think she gets so jealous because her husband Zeus had many other lovers. That would be enough to make anyone mad.
