Every once in a while I find a picture where it's like someone went into my head and pulled out an image. It's really cool when it happens; I get to see the vague image that I've been carrying around in my head in all its detail. And then I can show it to other people and say "that. That's what I was thinking."

You're welcome, Perry. I had a look at your web site and noticed you studied business. Does that mean that you used the degree to run a photograpahy business or you did something unrelated while keeping the photography as a hobby?
I ask, because I would love to be a photographer, as I have been bit by the bug, but I wouldn't want to shoot weddings and babies all the time or work for corporate products. But I think it's almost impossible to make money any other way. Art doesn't seem to pay until you're discovered after you are dead!
Any insights from yourself as a professional would be greatly appreciated.

I am not a professional photographer.. Though I would like to be.. and I wouldn't mind shooting babies, weddings or the interiors of elevators.. But.. I am just a passionate hobbyist.. I wish I could tell you how to become a professional photographer.. When you figure it out will you let me know so I can join you??

And, I'm shocked ... your work was so good that I was sure you were. Did you ever try going the route of wedding photography? I befriended a fellow who has some gorgeous b&w vintage style female portraits in his portfolio. He's very good I think, but he hasn't been able to make much money and says that weddings give him too much stress due to the quick pace. lol So he can't do it!
I've seen much worse wedding photos in studios books than the ones you posted on here. Have you been able to sell any prints or such to help to at least pay for equipment and models?

Hi Lisa,
I have shot weddings.. I really enjoy them.. They are very fast paced but I love recording such a special day in a woman's life.
I sell prints from time to time.. I don't pay the models unless I am getting paid.. and it will be a long time 'til I can pay for my equipment

it is a bit cliche for me.. I don't know why she would have flowers in her hands if she is almost ready.. I guess I know she is getting undressed.. the viewer would have no way of knowing that..

I just love this picture. I don't know what exactly I love about it. It could be the model's flawless skin, or it could be the lighting which magnifies her beauty, or it could be the peaceful expression on her face that for a single moment, all is good in this world.

I love the body language. I love that she has her head tilted downward. And I like the expression on her face that seems to go either way: 1) she is melancholy 2) she knows she's damn beautiful and is in no hurry to show that she might be anxious or excited or turned on.
Personally I would have preferred no panties in the shot -- it might have made the image cleaner (and I don't mean sexually, just in the composition and lines). Then again, I am NOT a photographer so what do I know? Holding them though is obvious -- she just took them off. It might have been more intriguing with them nowhere in sight. You might have been left to wonder how long she'd been waiting there for her lover...or if she was just there to please herself.
Nonetheless, I do like this image a lot. Was this an intentional pose or were you waiting for her to remove her underwear and begin the real posing...hence the title? Just curious if it was spontaneous or not.

A shot like this or similiar to it with a string of pearls held listlessly would be highly pleasurable to view as well!

That's true. I was relating the pearls as sex beads, thinking pearls have a nicer glow and not as offensive as her holding a string of forbidden beads would be. But you're right about cliche. Pearls are probably overused and expected and perhaps too romanticized for nude. I also thought that pose holding a long whip would be interesting. But I really don't know anything about fetish type images or even artistic nudes so something like that may be tacky or way over done.
Did you post the one without panties on DA? I don't think I saw it. You may not have but just want to make sure I didn't overlook it.

Handcuffs could be interesting. The angle of her wrist holding them could determine the emotional effect. I like that your work has that thought provoking side to them.

I shot it with window light.. the camera's white balance set to tungestone.. Then I fine tuned it in PS
