Woman with Black Umbrella
Personal piece. There's something about these vast, towering, seemingly Victorian cityscapes that I find incredibly compelling to paint. Maybe its a mental disorder I should get treatment for. But for the last ten years or so, if I have a choice, its what I'll probably end up painting.

Interesting steampunk setting.Β The lady with the black umbrella could be one of those hidden protectors of the city.

Quite welcome.Β Seems a lot of the steampunk story lines today follow the concept that it all occurs in London, and that one or two of the principle characters can use magic of some sort.Β
That was what gave me the idea that this is this lady's background since you pointed her out.

Not really.Β Most people know of the idea of steampunk, but few ever delve into it.Β If you've read Jules Verne or H.G. Wells, then you've had touched onto the concept of steampunk.Β I tried writing a story set in America about this time, but couldn't truly get into the whole genre at the time.Β Maybe later, but for now I'm more into cyberpunk, i.e., the time just after WW2 up to the early 1960's.
