I can honestly say that i didn't notice the name, i feel alittle stupid now
Have you ever tried doing a transparent material? plexiglass or transparent plastic?
I admit i kinda doubt it would resemble the MSR as much.
None the less i hope my critique wasn't useless to you

sounds more like questions than critique. I would like to know more specs, but it hasn't been something peterku has really gone into from what i know, correct me if i'm wrong

You make the coolest realistic 3d model weapons I have ever seen. Weapons in most sci fi movies usually aren't as good as this

Reminds me of the MORS sniper rifle of Advanced Warfare to some extent, although not as built up on the rest of the rifle and not bolt-action. On another note, maybe more like the Rorsch Mk-1 of Battlefield 4? (Great job btw.)

A lot of sexy elements. Butstock could by more solif ... well, what i always say. The grip seems very basic this time. Not that basic isen't good ... it's just not ... awesome future stuff ... so much. Barrel gives a good solid feeling. I like elements you can hear chargin with a angry electrostatic sound, eheh.

You know what considering that I was the one who suggested railguns and gauss rifles to be the next step to take a break from the energy weapons. It's funny that I'm actually feeling little bit jealous, you did a pretty good job. I wish I could make my linear motor and energy weapons look as complete as this.

This looks like a pretty decent design. However I do agree with the comments: I believe the functionality can still be made more practical without sacrificing aesthetics and impressions. I can see this sniper rifle being more like a commercial tech demo prototype or deliberately excluding any of the gritty combat ready parts that it goes with for a gun showcase.
One idea I can suggest is implying potential and versatility: Maybe separate easy to add and remove parts such as grips and covers for exposed parts can be included in the images while leaving the weapon fitted with just the presentable parts. There are rails I can see, but maybe some other compatible logistics can be added. Things like the Keymod attachments and See-all open sights are becoming popular too.
Another fun thing to think about for linear motor weapons would be designing the ammunition.

tnx man for ideas. I appreceate it. Good point is to make some ammunition as well. more people pointed it out that it is missing. In the future I definitelly make some series of ammunition desings...

Thanks. You could also combine the advanced ballistics with the concepts of your previous energy weapons to perhaps make a super powerful but expensive hybrid that coats or energizes the slugs with plasma (or anything else) to hit hard and burn.
Also I forgot this in case you want to go into more and more details. The cooling systems could be considered. Like the simple liquid coolant or the more high tech methods of expelling heat though the discharge process, and those would be potentially good use in space.

tnx you and yea it could be bigger. i just didnt wanna make it to heavy.

NerdArmoury In reply to peterku [2017-09-04 07:53:30 +0000 UTC]
hmmm. in that case id get rid of some of that framing, best example is Fallout Gauss Riffle where coils are held by 3 reinforcement rods, also the magazine, it could be a bit smaller, usually projectiles for this type of guns is fairly small calibre, around 2mm-3mm diameter
