The goggles are the best thing 'bout this great deviation for sure! May I ask where you got them?

The goggles came from work. They are a simple welding goggle. The photo of the dog skeleton is fron the NY museum af natural history...I'd shot it in 2004.

A world gone mad...I hadn't thought of the image that way before. It was a reflection of my own world having gone mad...the seering heat from my vocation, the skeleton representing the recent lose of my 16 year old terrier, the stoic look and darkened glasses, a representation of the emotionless reaction to a crumbling life that all men are expected to live up to...

I'm happy that you enjoy the image. And a little flattered too.

Ron

Oh my! that was pretty intense Ron! Your world is not any different from others'. In fact I was totally stunned by the bizarre coincidence of your using the very same wording that I was just using – in Arabic of course- over the phone with my brother's ex wife …stoic look…! Emotionless reaction…! I would perhaps add disoriented! As for the sense of loss it seems that I've been experiencing it quite frequently for the last few years, yet I'm sorry for yours, for it is always saddening no matter what we try to pull things together…it still stings when recalled! Crumbling life…! Hmmm…well, it indeed is! I can't argue about that …! sorry Ron for sounding like another person wearing those dark glasses, but it was as though u asked for it by pouring out some of your steam over here…! I certainly enjoyed the image as it is literally an Image of your turmoil, however I'm glad that you were happy and a little flattered, aren't we entitled to feel as so every once in a while?.....Ah...thx for adding me
PS: It's 8 AM Cairo LT...

Stoic...we don't use, nor hear that expression much anymore. It better reflects the men and women of my father's generation but many of the same qualities flow through my own veins.

Please don't worry about pouring out whatever you may feel...candor and honesty...the ability to express what's truly in your heart...are qualities that I admire most in my friends.

Hmmmmmm....8AM in Cairo...I've never been there. Not yet. I'd had dinner tonight with my mother and father and mentioned that I'm thinking about 'running away' next Christmas. I've been thinking about Casablanca or Tangiers...any thoughts?

To be honest I had to look it up in the Dic ! Though my English is not as fluent but it sounded odd…
I'm relieved that I don’t have to worry about the pouring thing! Fortunately I'm in for speaking my mind when convenient! Admiring such quality is surely one significant thing that we have in common …

Casablanca, Tangiers oh la, la! sounds absolutely interesting, any thing, place, person that is very different but distinctive would be fun, wouldn't it?…there will always be this exciting joy of discovery further more reaching out or connecting or perhaps melting in new environment, backgrounds, culture …wouldn't it be a fresh period of life. Go Ron , run away for a while if u can, enrich ur life, give it a brand new flair…
Please send my warm regards to ur dear MOM and DAD…
