Description I was the luckiest guy ever : a quite uncommon specie (Lesser Spotted Woodpecker) made his nest in a tree in my garden. But the best : it was that his hole was 1m away from my balcony, at the same height.

I was lucky enough to follow this couple from the very beginning (making the entrance of his nest) to the very last day when the last chick took of.

Surely one of my best memory in nature photography.

3 pictures showing how the male removed the wood from the nest :
1 - keep the wood chips with your beak
2 - try to put them away (but unfortunately, the wind was against him...
3 - call for the female
