Well, I think its AMAZING! Why didn't I think of that??? I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan(not so much as the movies as the books) and I might be a little obsessive. Okay, a lot obsessive. But I still don't know why I didn't think of that. No, I can't draw. I probably would've if I could draw, though.

XD!! It was just the product of some boredom and too many viewings of the Potter Puppet Pals shorts.

I'm a big HP fan too, though I don't do a whole lot of fanart these days. But it was what got me on the road to writing my own original material, so it'll always hold a special place in my heart. J.K. Rowling is a huge inspiration.

Pretty amazing boredom.

Yeah, J.K. Rowling IS a huge inspiration. She probably first gave me the idea to start writing(though I didn't realize it at the time). I probably shouldn't list what HP things I have bought or have made. I will tell you that I have read the entire series three times, though.

She's an incredible woman-- definitely a great role model, whether someone is interested in writing or not. I keep on learning new things to admire about her all the time.

And haha, I've read the earlier books more times than I can count... Not so much the later ones, purely because I just haven't had the time to sit down and read them over and over, though I'd certainly love to. I used to be pretty involved in writing fanfiction before I started doing original work instead-- though when I have enough time, I'd love to actually finish some of those fanfics I started. XD

Okay, you beat me there. My mom made me stop reading them over and over again. She said that I needed to read something new, so then I went through a Brian Jacques faze until she made me stop reading those. Then I went through Philip Pullman. So now I am in a Terry Brooks-Shannara obsession and she is telling me to read something new, but I haven't read all of them, so I ignore her. You know what's really cool? I wrote some fanmail to Terry Brooks and after month of antagnizing month, I got a hand-written letter back with two bookmarks, one of which he signed. I put it all in a frame and it is sitting on my dresser.

But me, my mom and my sister who is in collage all love Harry Potter. I am the most obsessive out of the three, though. I have a lot of HP posters, but since I have gotten my room painted, my mom won't let me hang them up any more. I got to see the 5th movie before it actually came out. My friend(who also loves HP) made a Scrabble board with HP names and a few places on in. That is only but a few things of HP that I have and have made. Do I have you beat there or do I have to list a few more things??? lol

Brian Jacques was one of my favorite childhood authors. I'm currently re-reading Pullman's stuff. Here's a couple of recommendations; not sure how old you are, but Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman are fantastic authors, and the Discworld Series (Pratchett) is so long that it's taken me years to find the time to get through it, but it's worth every penny spent. Stephen King, also, is an excellent author if you're looking for books with great characters with rich histories and settings.

XP Who said I was trying to beat anyone? I'm not very obsessive about Harry Potter anymore, though obviously it is still one of my favorite series.

But if you're interested in competing, I once paused the movie and counted Mrs. Norris's whiskers for the sake of knowing more trivia than the others. Most of my theories regarding what was going to happen in the last book were correct (ex, I knew who RAB was moments after reading the letter he left, and also figured out that Kreacher had stolen the locket, which had then been stolen by Mundungus, all based solely on the hints in the book).

rotfl!

How many whiskers DOES Mrs. Norris have??? I'm not as obsessive with HP as I was, but I still love it. I like the books way more than the movies. In my opinion, the movies suck.

So, those aurthors you recommened, are they appropriate for a thirteen year old? I'm not sure if you would be shocked to know that you were talking to a thirteen year old, but you are are talking to one. *shrugs*

Okay, IF YOU REALLY ARE INTRESTED IN COMPETING, then did you write how many days until the sixth HP book came out om your arm, then get up a little bit before 12:00 (and I can't believe I am telling this to someone) and go to the store dressed in a wizard hat and robe that you had made for you so you could be Hermione for Halloween to buy the book?

Wow, I just realized how immature I really am. . . . .

I'm not sure if I can remember now, but I recall it being something like 25. I adore the movies (save for the fourth, which was horrible in my opinion). I'm an art geek, so the artistic aspects of the film alone are enough to keep me entertained, particularly in the third movie. Cuaron was an excellent director and his cinematography/use of special effects as ART rather than just a cheap way to impress the audience is something I admire a lot. DRAWING horses -alone- is hard, can you imagine trying to animate a horse/bird hybrid?

Doesn't surprise me that much, actually. XD I'd say Terry Pratchett probably is-- Discworld is quite tame. Some of Gaiman's stuff is DEFINITELY not appropriate for younger kids, but you'd probably be safe reading 'Coraline', which is one of his childrens' books and is VERY good. 'Neverwhere', another good book of his, is probably appropriate as well. I don't remember there being anything objectionable about it.
King, you're probably better off staying away from until you're older. XD His books are excellent but you can hardly turn a page of them without having to read a description of boobs or something.

Well, I forget what I did for the sixth book, but I counted down every single day before the fifth book came out. I wore my Gryffindor scarf and tie to the release of the seventh, counted down with a bookstore full of other fans, and then finished the book literally within five hours of buying it (needless to say, I spent the next day hovering between 'unconscious' and 'bouncing off the walls'. Which was both a blessing and a curse, because I had to resist accidentally spoiling the book for my parents (who spent the rest of vacation-- we were in California at the time-- arguing over who got to read it after me).

I couldn't do anything for the seventh book because I was having my family reunion, though I was pretty upset about it. The day it came out, I MADE my parents and Aunt and Uncle drive me to Borders to get the book. But I couldn't spend all day reading it because my mom made me stay with the family and not be reclusive. But while waiting in the line to buy it, I opened it up and started to read it.
Thanks for the deviation, it was cute! I have no clue who they are, but I enjoyed it none-the-less.

Oh man, yeah, I was with my Grandad in Cali when it came out. XD Needless to say, I was like "WE ARE FINDING A BOOKSTORE IN HIS TOWN. -NOW-." It turned out to actually be better than the normal midnight release, because it was at this lovely little 'mom'n'op' local bookstore instead of one of the big chains. The line went super-fast the instant the clock ticked midnight, so we were literally back at the apartment less than five minutes after 12:00.
XD And yeah, my mom said te same thing... which is why I made sure to read the entire thing that night. XD By the time 5:00 AM rolled around, I was finished. It was actually pretty emotional to be reading the last book in the middle of the night when everyone else was asleep.
(Not as awesome as the night I got the fifth book, where I was literally sleeping in a secret room behind a cupboard door in somebody's house, overlooking a lake, but still pretty cool)

XD You're... welcome? XD I just drew it to get out of my art block, Leo and Phoenix are fun to draw. I'm glad you liked it!

Yeah, when the 6th book came out, my mom and I had to wait for like ever and a half plus three quarters to just get our hands on the book, and it took even longer to get to the cash register. I got home at about 1:00, and the store is only about five minutes from my house.
I finished the 7th book before my mom(we bought two copies) and it was so hard to not tell her anything of what was going to happen, amd she kept asking me questions(she is a very inquisitive woman) and I could barely keep my mouth shut. I cried so much throughout that book, and my sister would come up to me(this one refuses to read Harry Potter, Caitlin) and ask me what was wrong. I'd be like "He died!!! Why would J.K. Rowling do this to me???" and she would shrug, disinsterested. Then I would go and sit on the hammock and like cry from laughing for joy. Catie would come out and be like "Were you not just crying because he died, and now you are laughing?" And I would be like, "He didn't die!!! Yes!!!! I LOVE J.K. Rowling!"
That was how it was the entire time I was reading that book.
We were in Joliet for last years family reunion, up be Chicago and my cousins and nephews and neice would tell me to stop reading or ask me what was wrong and I would just say "NOOOOOO!!!!!" and they would look at me like I was retarted and walk away. It worked, though, I was alone save for the book.

I could so see that happening. And of course Herms is oblivous to why Ron is killing him or else she would agree or else be all huffy or blushy. (Depending on if she realizes that he's beating him up because he likes it or if she just gets offended.) It was so funny!
