I know I'm a bit behind the times with this one, but I watched Ponyo for the first time recently. It was much better than I expected! I know I can't be the only one who thought Fujimoto was a total creeper. And yet somehow he was also really cool.Still trying to get the hang of watercolour... but I think I'd be better off just sticking with acrylic.

omg i saw this and was like PONYO. got so excited. i havent seen any amazing ponyo art, but this is fanastic.

Wow, that looks beeeeautiful and swirly and watercolory...how ideal for Fujimoto, who looks perfect...I adore his hair. :3 I instantly fell in love with that guy...he just immediately struck me as an incredible bundle of cute and awesome. Though there were dozens of other things I loved about the movie, he easily wound up being my favorite part--and, totally unforeseen, I became utterly obsessed with him. XD Hehe...that's a lovely pic that captures his essence well. ^^
And I got him on the DVD quiz, too.

I SO SO TOTALLY AGREE. I know Miyazaki's getting older and he may not plan on making tooo many more things, but he's GOT to do something else with Ponyo...I MUST know more about Fuji!!! >:-} I loooved all the beautiful underwater animation and sea life and a million other things about the movie, but he definitely turned out to be the best part of it by far.

Also, you're wonderful with watercolors. I can never get them right. I always have bleeding and it looks terrible.
Yes, it also talks about some of Miyazaki's other movies. Though I was disappointed that it has Howl's castle but you can't go to it to hear about it

He's a really cool creeper. Who has awesome awesome hair.
I'm not sure I like the splashes of orange on his hands (it seems to flatten the image for me) but the colours are awesome!

Oh... the orange thing in his hands was supposed to be like a baby pupa kind of Ponyo. XD But yeah, it didn't turn out as well as I would have liked.

I like the movie mainly because of the sea creatures and Fujimoto (although he is a bit of a creepster).

My toddler's favorite movies are Miyazaki-san's (and Princess and the Frog and The Aristocats, but we won't go there). And, don't worry, I though Fujimoto was a creeper as well.

I think it's because there's a lot of prep work and then you can't just paint it all in one go... there's a lot of waiting in between as different portions dry? Kind of tedious I think, but I'm gonna keep practicing.

The colour scheme works really well, and I actually like the watercolours? They lend it a cool organic-y feel.

After watching it, I felt like it was more than that. But granted... not even going to the workshop and seeing the original production sketches made me want to watch it. XD
