Description I took it upon myself to draw a Victorian lady in all her finery! and so I did, but I did so in a rough and ready way which though pleasing to my eye I felt not of proper quality.. So I took it upon myself to draw her again properly, this time on larger grey pastel paper.

Alas my second attempt was somewhat disastrous and in a fit of pique I threw it away in dismay! This (I cannot lie) irritated me a great deal so once again I picked up this troublesome drawing and attacked it once more! this time in an attempted impressionist style!
Eventually once my rage had subsided I felt that maybe the drawing wasn't so bad after all and somehow a sinister element had crept into the piece which appealed to my darker nature! So here it is a flawed but atmospheric drawing of Victorian night life in Whitechapel, London circa 1888.

Materials used chalk, charcoal, and a lurid hint of green tint provided by gimp.

I realise my description is a little odd but hey I had fun writing it!

Glad you took further attempts at it as it really works!

This has a Jack-The-Ripper feel about it!
Very atmospheric and gloomy with footsteps echoing down every street!
Heck, even I'd be looking over my shoulder!

I hated this partly done but for some reason kept playing with it and well now I like it a lot, odd how things turn out Yes it must of been very unsettling and scary during the time the murders took place..Β  Β

Hehe, this may not be the ripper in my drawing.. it might just be a nice gentleman out for a brisk night time walk..
