A 1500mm focal length is pretty long. Mine is only 1200mm.
I had been looking at some larger diameter scopes, but recently decided to go the other way and look at shorter focal lengths to get a wider field of view.
There is just so much structure with this and other wide field objects that I can't touch.
I keep bouncing back and forth between the Orion site, OPT, and Ebay.
I can't decide.

There is no one way to do Astrophotography, but there are people who will try to convince you otherwise.
My setup is equivalent to this: www.telescope.com/Telescopes/R…
To use a DSLR I had to do a few mods to get the correct back focus.
I replaced the focuser with this one: www.telescope.com/Orion-2-Low-…
and had to replace some of the hardware on the mirror cell.
