STAIRCASE TO NIRVANA100% ps7
2hours working on this piece (this time i counted it). 21 layers in a 41mb PSD file.
my second 100% non-abstract piece. i really loved the result i hope you like it. buddha stock from sxc .
people who don't know what Nirvana is in Buddhism won't understand the meaning of this
got inspired by the almighty house track Delerium "After All" (Satoshi Tomiie remix) that made me be near the Nirvana when Satoshi Tomiie played it in O2 club in lisbon in the last year hehehe
By the way, i'm atheist.

- removed the 3 big stars (thanks to * ed0 advice
)- removed the tree on the right (can you believe i haven't even noticed it? lol thanks *ed0 again)
- recoloured the planet and the statue

A nice concept, but the planet is a bit lackluster; grainy, with a texture that's too soft. Your starfield is pretty good but the lack of interesting events at the impact point kind of kills thiis piece. Maybe detail it a bit more?
But nicely done, at any rate.

hmm you're right. the planet technique is old (you can check my newer deviations that planets look completly different 
about the impact point... yes it really sucks lol. i'm lame at brushing but i've really to try something about it. maybe a version 2 of this deviation, who knows?

Cool work, I just think that jolt of fire/energy looks way too smudged/airbrushed. I don't know how it should be improved, but it just doesn't look good to me. That Buddha picture would be cooler if it was symmetric and the stairs weren't slanted.
