I'd like to introduce you to my rather fickle muse - Whisper.So called because she whispers ideas into my head at the most annoying times...
Like when I'm trying to get to sleep! She loves torturing me...
Actually, she mostly visits me late at night - hence why she demanded to be
painted at night, in a night scene...
Watercolour on A3 300gsm smooth WC paper.
White gouache for the stars (btw - my new fav art tool = toothbrush)

The white dots in the sky were done with watered down white acrylic paint & an old toothbrush. Just loaded up the tootbrush with paint & ran my finger over the bristles to 'splatter' the paint.
The stone texture was done with many layers of paint and very fine grain salt.

O_o This is a very impressive piece. I think you've done an excellent job... of... well... the whole thing actually. I don't know what to pick out and comment on individually, because it all looks really good, composition, colours, execution, anatomy, etc. I bet you are pleased with it!

I would never have thought about using a tooth brush to paint with. What a cool idea...You can tell that I don't paint...Can't ya.

Yeah.. I was actually going to use the toothbrush on the stone wall, but then I remembered seeing some guys in the city doing space scenes with sprak pain & they used toothbrushed with white paint to do stars! So I gave it a go & I'm rather pleased with the result...

When you were telling me about this it sounded really cool, it is far far better than you explained it. The stone work is amazing and I will deffo give that technique a go, and the sky is beautiful. You have outdone yourself again

Yeah, mine's a slave driver... I always have to carry around a small sketch book & pencil (for those on-the-go ideas), if I get an idea at night I have to sketch it down, if she's particularly interested in a painting then she won't let me rest until it's finished!
