WOW O.O I have got to say, this is amazing! I really love it! ^^
First off, the feeling of that men strike really makes me happy for some reason. It is amazing you were able to get a shot like this, just before the shinai hits the target e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)"/>
Overall, this picture gives a very neutral feeling, probably because you took the risk of discarding the light. Even if it gives that neutral feeling, I think it is better to leave it this way because gym floors actually do not appeal the human eye much, or is that just me...?
Anyways, other than the lighting, this photo also gives off a feeling of what would happen in the future. For those who play kendo, it is very obvious the kendoka on the far side got a point, (unless the other one happen to have a faster sword, which I doubt, unless he's Miyazaki Masahiro =.e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>, and I can just imagine him smiling after turning around to start again/or end the match. Kendoka can clearly see his opponent could not block the hit and is an inch away from getting a point, therefore it puts a happy atmosphere for the far side kendoka.
The foot is what I like best though. It is in the air, ready for a good and hearty stomp that will end the match or give him a point. That outstretched right hand and the desperate las block feeling from the other kendoka shows in this photo. I think that is what is amazing in this photo. We can see the before and after of this, whereas many other photography, you can't see that. That's one thing great about taking photos of sports! But it is equally as hard to get a good, meaningful photo.
Kudos to you :L Stay sharp~
