The Bush Dog (Speothos venaticus)is a canid found in Central and South America, To read more about this dog pls see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bush_dog
The picture was taken at Kolmården Zoo in Sweden With a Nikon D800 and a Nikon 70-200mm lens F2,8
This is a new animal for me they were very hard to take any good pictures... i Thought they were cool so small and so tough i really hope you like them....
And i sry to say that i know very little about them....
All comments are welcome pls tell me what you think is good and bad so i can get better...

very good photo, still lives in my country these small and ferocious dogs in very wet forests and forest are rarely seen but very rare to see

I saw these for the first time at Gaia Park last year. I was very surprised, it's kind of a rare occasion to see an animal (or at least a mammal) you've truly never seen before. And such a gorgeous one, too. They were very interesting to watch. You caught a brilliant expression here!

I've never seen or heard of this animal before so thankyou for introducing me to it, as you did with the dhole (:
You've captured him at a perfect stance, he looks so proud and sure. Maybe the lighting is a little bit harsh on his face though, with all the shine from his hair your eyes don't really direct to his face (particularly the eyes) firstly, which is usually the first thing I look at in a portrait. But other than that, this little creature has itself one more fan, thanks to you Pali! (:

i agree with u about the harsh light totally thats the draw back of Swedish zoo´s in summer we have very harsh light during the time the zoo´s are open to the public.. so i dont have much of a choice im sry to say

It's a great capture of a creature I've never encountered. I do not think he's cute in the least. He looks nasty mean...almost demonic! Looking at that face and the lighter upper coat, plus the claws, I could imagine him a cross of a Wolverine and a Honey Badger!
