Shirow Masamune es el mangaka tras títulos como Orion, Dominion, Appleseed o Ghost in the Shell. Es mi artista favorito de todos los tiempos y quería agradecerle la profunda influencia que su trabajo ha tenido sobre mí con este fanart de la mayor Motoko Kusanagi. Él me enseñó no sólo cómo dibujar, sino qué dibujar. Él me enseñó cómo pensar y qué necesitaba contarle a la gente. Por esa razón lo llamo sensei. ^.^
Así es que feliz cumpleaños, sensei. Disfruta el día en que cumples medio siglo. Aquí hay un artista desconocido que nace de tu trabajo. Muchísimas gracias. ^___^

Shirow Masamune is 50 years old today!!
Shirow Masamune is the mangaka behind titles like Orion, Dominion, Appleseed or Ghost in the Shell. He's my all-time favourite artist and I want to thank him the deep influence his work had on me with this fanart of major Motoko Kusanagi. He taught me not only how to draw, but also what to draw. He taught me how to think and what I need to tell to the people. For that reason I call him sensei. ^.^
So, happy birthday, sensei. Enjoy your half-century birthday. Here is an unknown artist who born from your work. Thank you very much. ^___^

Motoko is one of the best, and more complex and complete characters I ever read (and watch) in my whole life. I drew this for the 50th birthday of his creator, Shirow Masamune, but in the future I want to draw more Motokos. I really enjoyed doing this one.

Last I've seen from his mind was a Production I.G's anime he was involved named Real Drive. Good story with a lot of Shirow's script ideas about cyborgs, robots and cyberspace, but there is no manga directly drawed, writen and edited by Shirow-sensei after ManMachine Interface (which took a decade to finish) in 2001.

No I have been living in Spain, but I am from Sweden originally. Your English is defenitively better than my Spanish.
I do agree on the Man-Machine Interface. I also think the story is quite interesting, I mean, what are we as a life form? If it is possible (in the future) to create cyborgs, are they a human life form or something else? Perahaps our souls are in existance in another dimension where advanced life-forms can communicate on the same level. This, I think makes his story philosophical.

Shirow is a little bit Asimov sometimes. All present living forms in the world have the same composition based in carbon. Why an AI cannot be a living form? This is one of the most interesting things in Shirow's work, I think. ^.^
