Honestly I just can't wait until J&S finally get down to knocking boots IF ONLY for Frank N. Furter's reactionβ he's gonna emerge from the basement easy like Sunday morning, a mellowed, blubbery mess of deflated tensions, diegetic, senseless Tim Curry purr a-rumbling away. I am fully expecting him to beach himself like a whale in the sunshine under the tree out front of the Building and not move for a good week, a sexually sated jellyfish awash upon the beach of UST NO MORE, PEACE AT LAST.

OK, so I have watched too much Frasier in my days, and I can't help thinking of that episode in the final season when Frasier is setting up private practice as a shrink, and one of his first patients comes in, with a persistent sadness, and keeps giggling when he tries to talk her through it. Β Come to find out, Frasier had dated her sister, and after making the beast with two backs called her "M'lady". It became a big joke between the sisters, their mother, aunt and other female friends...to the point her aunt had named her dog "M'lady"
And now here's Jareth, calling Sarah "My Lady", not once but twice, and all I can think of is, "And my aunt even named her dog "M'Lady"... Please tell me Christine or Liz or 'Ponine don't have plans to get a pet!

Frasier is definitely US-specific/before my time, though. Don't recall ever seeing dubbed eps on TV.
"M'lady" is more a thing I'd associate with the trilby-tipping "chivalry" of the Nice Guys(TM) of various meninis-tending internet hangouts

I regret to admit that I still want nothing to happen between these two. I know it a perfectly good base has been built for it all, but I don't want it to happen. It might be because I am tired of all kinds of fictional romance. It might also be because I am used to seeing these characters in a story which actually didn't have a romance going on. I am so sorry to tell you this, it's just my opinion. Β

Well, having come in as a Raoul/Christine shipper myself (it's a long story...), I'm not exactly invested in a sexy outcome for these two, or at least not nearly so much as the rest of the fans.
But at this stage I find I can take it or leave it...

MissMcGuire In reply to AnataHana [2017-05-30 19:12:03 +0000 UTC]
Well, the difficulty is that part of the point of a J/S shipping comic (with lots of other goodness attached) is the romance. In fact, the point of ANY romance story is the romance. If you want to read it despite the romance, good for you! No need to apologize whatsoever. But you will still get romance, and commenting a comment about how you want the point to shift to your particular angle is unproductive (and might have a side effect of exasperating the author, who wrote a story for a different audience, *people who want romance*.) I guess my point is: what on earth did you expect from a J/S comic other than J/S? Β

AnataHana In reply to MissMcGuire [2017-05-30 21:10:08 +0000 UTC]
I myself haven't considered this to be a slash comic about these two. It's more of a story about different fictional worlds colliding and the humour that comes from it. I started reading it before tags were a thing and I started reading it because I loved the characters, not because I wanted to see them kiss. To be honest, for the first time for months I am stating my own opinion about a fictional work and I'm afraid how the author is going to respond if she ever will.

eh, fair enough! I am very aware I have shifted tone quite a bit since early more madcap funniness.
But Sarah and Christine are the comic's protagonists because of having gone through some intense backstories, tied to their canon antagonist-slash-suitors, and that had always been part and parcel of the appeal in telling this story for me. Again, I'm aware the focus has been massively on the JS stuff, and not so much in a comedy way, of late, and I do think I need to get things back to a more even keel; but I get the impression, from overall tone of comments here, you may be a little outnumbered by people on board this ship, tbh.

Ok so this will TOTALLY go over Sir Didymus' sweet PG little head, but based SOLEY on what he observed, all MANNER of untoward actions could have been going on there. Sarah sitting upright and Jareth horizonal? The only clothing we can confirm Jareth is wearing is his gloves. Which he would still be wearing no matter what was going on. It's too bad Sir D is so clueless. Could have started some fun rumors in the Labyrinth. Might still.Β
Sir Didymus: I have found my lord and lady! Our champion has triumphed once again!Β
Hoggle: Hmmph. Suppose I'm glad he's alrigh--wait? Y'mean Sarah then? Them too together? What do you reckon was goin on there then?Β
Sir Didymus: I'm not quite sure. My lord was lying prone and I believe My lady was tending to him. He sat up to speak to me but was pushed back down by my lady. I suppose she wants him to rest during her ministrations. To conserve his strength. Why are you laughing?Β
Hoggle: *snorts* *scoffs* Ministrations eh? That's what they're callin it? Wait til the old man* hears this.Β
*the one with the bird hatΒ
Edit: Actually, re-reading it it ALMOST seems like Sir Didymus knows something is up. All those ellipses... Or maybe he's just bummed he got adventure plot-blockedΒ

Jareth does drape a clothed arm over the back of the sofa, to be exact.
But yes, Didymus was suspicious/puzzled/surely-cannot-be-so/disapproving, but he also ships his King and his Lady, so.....
