Well technically....they didn't beat up Soundwave. They outsmarted him. Only Wheeljack we've seen have any form of a chance at taking on Soundwave, and even then he still lost. Just pointing it out...

Miko killed Bombshell, clobbered Starscream and helped fuck over Soundwave. Sam Witwicky killed Starscream AND Laserbeak, and fucked over MEGATRON, but without an exo-suit.

As much as I love Miko, I grudgingly must admit Sam has the better track record.
