Yup thanx...Found those last night... I'm used to work with programs that have context menues on right click and such.. I'm sure once i do a few tutorials it'll be fine. I've worked only with Bryce for too long.. It's become natural to me, so everything else seems alien.. Apart from sketchup which I picked up and pretty much mastered in 1 afternoon, but that is also very user friendly.

Awesome ,... well I am looking forward to see your work then . It was very hard for me at the start , There were a few tutorials and It took me over two weeks to make a snow man ! hehe and you know that is like five balls and a cone , frustrating at max . I dont know much of Bryce , I saw its screen shot , GUI , indeed looks very friendly , hey mean while I may check that out .

Bryce 7 pro is now free.. Yes it's very friendly..but has alot of hidden functions.. I've been using it for many years... since it was only a terrain generator.
Right modeling a crash site environment in sketchup... it's going to be real cool..
Environments is what I like doing the most.. this one is going to be quite complex..
In the past I started working on 2 game projects..but ended up with people that were too young and not dedicated enough... mostly coders that were premadonas that go bored and left me hanging
I can't code.. if i could i would have continued working on my own on one of the games. I sank hunderds of hours into those.. But thats quite a while back.

Oh man ! I am sorry to hear that . It is a tough environment , to get the team and get something done . I personally did fail too in many projects , now I try to do what I really like the most , just building ships

I just got back into 3d and modeling last week.. Something real bad happened..
All my past work of last 14 years was saved on a hard drive back home and in storage at a friend... I asked him to ship it to me as i wanted to put some of my old stuff on here..
When the hd got here.. turns out it's most likely was stored near a speaker or something for years...all my data..gone forever.. I was very depressed...more like sunked..so i pouted for couple weeks... then decided that best remedy is to make new stuff...what you saw so far of mine it's just me goofing around getting back into it...this environment i'm modeling now will show what i can actually do

If you care I would add some star drives for no charge ! She has old SC cell CJ drives . With new drives you'd be happier all you need is to attach it whereever you like . Check out stars drives and let me know which one you like .

So you never did answer the question . I know the ship is wild fast , you mention . But I would like to know how long can she sustain that maximum speed

dcmstarships In reply to PINARCI [2012-08-01 20:58:39 +0000 UTC]

With most of my starships, I use the warp-jump concept where the ship is only in warp for a very short period of time: a fraction of a second to a few seconds at most. Time is required before each jump to charge up the warp-jump generators and time is required after each jump to determine the ship's exact new location. Lower tech level starships in my universes may only make one jump every few days while those at higher tech levels may be able to make several jumps each day. Thus, my ships have no "speed-per-hour" statistics. More information about the star-faring technology I use for my designs can be found on my hobby website at [link]

I did check out your link . I must say very interesting . I can almost say Hey man I know you . Okay back to the topic . That ship Starship Commonwealth . I was not looking for an answer based on '' speed per hour type of values '' All I could say was . If she were to travel 25 light years per day . That I thought ,well it is close to a light year per hour . That is already couple of thousand times of the speed of light . You also do introduce this Warp jump concept and that is ... is it legal ? Cause I think you are wasting
lots of energy ,by warping it all together to have a safe jump. Now I will go police on you (do forgive me ) but can you zip it allback up after you jump . I think you are little damaging the very fabric of time and space. You could use your warp drives in nice flow of constant warping and pushing a maximum whitin that state .well as much as you can sustain . That way controlling time dialition would not be a problem , and your navigation computer does not have to over load. What do you say .

I appreciate your detailed and enthusiastic reply. I am just using the FTL warp-jump concpet as it was portrayed in old SF novels by Issac Asmiov and James White. I am not knowledgeable enough about the topic to know if such a concept really makes sense from a scientific or engineering point of view.
