Description It turns out that one cannot waltz in half an hour before sunrise and expect to set up a tripod anywhere in the zone because there is already a solid wall of photographers.  So I traipsed off a ways to practice getting the sunrise using multiple exposures and a timer.  This is my first HDR shot.

Thanks so much.  Being a technophobe, I am especially pleased to have learned some new tricks.

ROFL!  No, one cannot expect that at Mesa Arch--at least not in any season that is nice to be out in.  It's disheartening to see that many photographers in one place like that but it does make for some very nice opportunities like the one you made for yourself by getting away from the jousting and clicking of tripod legs.
I like your take on the area, Tris.  I knew where the photo was even without your title--that chimney rock to the right is just so iconic.  Nice work!

No doubt I should have tried back in February... though it would have been forty degrees colder.  Honestly, it doesn't matter.   I'm so jazzed to have learned how to do HDR at long last.  And since I was far from the madding crowd that morning, I had no worries over practicing something new.

Thanks for all the faves, John.
