Schloss Sanssouci (French sans souci = no concern) in the eastern part of the same park, is one of the most famous castles of the Hohenzollern Brandenburg state capital Potsdam.
It was a favorite of Friedrich the Great, and served as his summer residence and summer house in which he wanted above all, enjoy his private life.

The castle was built in 1745-1747 by Georg Wenceslaus von Knobelsdorff ideas and sketches of the king to the terraced vineyards. It is the main work of German Rococo architecture.

Since 1990, Sanssouci with its palaces and the large park as a world cultural heritage under UNESCO protection. The organization justifies this as follows: Palace and Park of Sanssouci, often referred to as the "Prussian Versailles", are a synthesis of the artistic movements of the 18th Century in the cities and courts of Europe.
