Description I just couldn't get a good scan of this one.
Well... this was an attempt at combining a silhouette with a regular drawing (her face where it is illuminated by her halo).

I'm having an antisocial week/ month/ whatever.

The tenth princess's father was a giant black beetle. When the King found out about the Queen's affair this time, he ordered that a giant shoe be made, large enough to crush the beetle. The shoe was made, and hung in the hallway above the door to the Queen's bedchamber. But the Queen had discovered the King's plan earlier when she came across an invoice for six dozen foot-long brass shoe nails, and her lover was able to flee the kingdom disguised as an old peasant woman.
Tragically, the Queen's maid was mistakenly crushed under the shoe when she went to empty the royal chamberpot early the next morning.
Months later, when the princess was born, the King saw imediantly that she was no daughter of his, but according to the laws of the country he was required to raise her as one of his own. So he saw to it that the royal treasurer provided her maids with the funds to purchase her the finest black silks and laces for her dresses, long strings of black pearls to weave through her hair, and exotic ointments to soften her chitinous back.

I love your fairytale and illustration. xD The princess' hunched back and expression are perfect for the (shamed?) daughter of an adulterous, bug-loving queen, and the details of her dress are excellent.

Thank you! The scan isn't that good, so I'm glad the detail shows up at least a little.

What an amazing story to go with this. And the illustration is wonderful and spidery. She certainly looks like the daughter of a beetle (the queen was one too, yes?)
I want a piece of your brain!

Thank you!
The Queen was a human... the other nine princesses all have different fathers (poor King...).
If I ever slice off bits of my brain and candy them, you will be the first to get a box.

You are so freakily creative it is scary. Write an illustrated picture book for adults. Like Le Petit Prince, just a little creepier.

I want your story-ing.

Thank you! I will try to do more stories to go with pictures in the future, I'm glad people liked this one and didn't take offense to the fact that the queen was getting it on with a giant beetle.

I love her back and her hair, hehehe. And her little hand holding the part of the dress.

You should make a big book with your stories and illustrations, hehe.

The giant shoe, the chamber-pot maid, and the ointment for the chitinous back were what got me the most, hahaha!

It is tempting to illustrate more to the story.
I am working on getting my printer in better working order, and when I do I have several things I want to print up and mail to people... I did a set of silhouettes with stories to go with them, a little story for every 2-3 pictures, I really would like to do that at least.

Even if you just have one picture per story like this one, that would be awesome, hehe!

I thought I could do it but it is harder than I thought. I couldn't think of anything for the last two pictures I posted.
I think I will kidnap a writer, and keep them in my closet. Every day I will slide a new drawing under the door and if they can produce a story to go with it, they can have their daily bowl of gruel.

Thank you! I usually hesitate to put down any little stories with my drawings, but it seems like people liked this one, so I think I will start putting down more about the pictures in the future...

yes! You should do! I always find it very interesting to read stories to the drawings... It makes them live a little bit more^^
