Why did you put Jackie in Slytherin? Her daughter Rose is more ambitious than she is (I'd say nearly destroying the universe twice to be with The Doctor is using any means to achieve her ends and is very ambitious.) NineΒ seems like he'd be a good Slytherin, he has a higher level of self-preservation than Ten and Eleven while Ten and Eleven can be very reckless. Plus, the only person Nine generally loves and cares about is Rose; almost everything he does is to either to protect himself or Rose and if he manages to save the day in the process, well that's just an added bonus. The only time he's willing to sacrifice his own well-being is for Rose, which shows just how much he loves her.

Interestingly, although your focus is on New Who, the real Slytherin Doctor is 7. His cruel manipulation of Ace in Curse of Fenric is a prime example of this.

I've noticed that on the HP fan sites, the biggest defenders of Snape and Slytherin are me and my fellow Hufflepuffs. There may be a clue in that.

Not really. We just see a lot of clues that the Gryffindors are just as likely to use Dark Magic. Look at the things the twins did to Ron when he was little more than a toddler. Look at James Potter. Look at how few Slytherins are actually seen to be bad.
