What is this? A fan comic. Our (wishful) theory of Red X’s identity (and see how it is not Jason Todd, sorry.).Story: + Art: Editor/dialogue:

PART 1 IS OVER, can't believe it! We've shown who we think Red X is, and Part 2's gonna cover how it happened.
I'm gonna clean up parts of Part 1 (stuff that bugs me the most) while we do more planning for Part 2, but somebody buy some cake, she's been near-dead after coming home from work each morning while editing this comic (I'm already up at weird hours, but this backwards night life is new to her). Also, the cool fade-y first panel was her idea.

Obviously universe-ally or temporally displace Dick Grayson (Teen Titan's Robin).
As much as I like the "Red X is Jason Todd" theory, a displaced Dick is interesting and really compelling!
I really love this art style, and I absolutely adore your Starfire.

How is it not Jason Todd. That's the only logical explanation to it. You sir just had to pull the deus ex machina right out your rear didn't you? Otherwise the art was pretty good and the story despite the bs ending was ok. Make it Jason Todd or else more people like me are gonna come rolling along.

Haha, just kidding, no worries. By virtue of being the most popular theory, well yeah-- Lots of people who think he's Jason have already read this comic. It just... doesn't bother me if they happen to disagree. It doesn't bother me if they hate the comic and me/pg-chan and the next ten generations of our families, etc. Like I'm gonna tell random people how to enjoy a character from a TV show that ended six years ago? Yeeeeah, not really a pastime of mine, y'know?
I'm actually the most amused at the idea that something I made could rile up anyone enough to Argue On The Internet about it. You probably shouldn't get so worked up over some random person's fan comic. I don't think that's particularly healthy.
Oh, the comic hasn't ended. The next part explains what happened here (indefinite hiatus because of real world things, though).
And if you're having problems thinking of how it wouldn't be Jason, there are plenty just in that screencap of Beast Boy's theories from the TV series (and there's always Google). I've seen some pretty cool ones that weren't the Jason Todd thing or the theory in our comic.
Hey, feel free to make your own comics, though; I actually wish people would make more comics about Red X. He's badass. But this one's ours, and we already have plans for it.

-I could be wrong, but I truly think it's Robin under the Red X suit.
-Exhibit A (Teen Titans: X - Prologue 2) - "I'd traveled a long way from home, in need of a fresh start."
I'm aware that the situation could easily pertain to anyone, but the first scenario that came to my mind was Robin when he'd left Batman and moved to Jump for a new beginning.
-Exhibit B (Teen Titans: X - Prologue P.3) - "I thought I was prepared. I even wore a new suit."
The panel with Dick holding Red X's belt leads me to believe it's him and that the "new suit" is the Red X one, and not that 'Red X' had stolen it from Robin.
-Exhibit C (Teen Titans: X - P1) - "They remind me of people I used to know. Good people. Long dead."
I know for certain that Robin considers the Titans as his family, so I'm assuming the good people long dead had been his true, blood-related family.
-Exhibit D (Teen Titans: X - P6) - "I mean, look at this. Just pepperoni? You're clearly not okay."
How would Red X, if not Robin, know that fact about Starfire and her unusually odd preference for food? Unless, of course, 'Red X' is somewhat of a stalker.
-Exhibit E (Teen Titans: X - P7/P8/P9) - "Acts confident because he's really scared on the inside. Besides. He obviously thinks a lot of you. He feels responsible for his team. You guys are his family, right? He's got to protect you. He needs you more than you need him. He'd...He'd go crazy without you guys. Just like he'd go crazy if he couldn't erase a threat. He can't lose his family again."
Red X is speaking as though he knows exaaaaaactly how Robin is feeling, which is questionable, considering the Boy Wonder never really expresses his emotions. How would Red X know Robin's thoughts on the matter if they weren't one in the same? Also, when he says, "He can't lose his family again," perhaps Robin has turned to the Red X persona once again in order to protect the Titans from some threat which still remains unknown to us readers?
-Exhibit F (Teen Titans: X - P7) - "You do not seem to be an evil criminal - - we have received your help on more than one occasion."
I think maybe he's not an evil criminal because he's not really a criminal at all...perhaps just a vigilante hero (Robin) pretending to be the bad guy, just like a certain duo we all know and hopefully love because they're friggin' awesome. (Green Hornet and Kato)
-I'd like to say the kiss on (Teen Titans: X - Page 16) is evidence in and of itself, however there's not really enough reasoning to support it other than Robin's attraction for Starfire. I'm aware that with her beauty, it could easily be anyone else that would be drawn to her.
-Exhibit G (Teen Titans: X - Page 22 through Page 24) - "Insert all text from pages here."
He hadn't confirmed that he WASN'T Robin! So it could still very well be him after all.
-Exhibit H (Teen Titans: X - Page 26-27) - The entire thing is about Robin, and the time he first donned the Red X suit, losing the trust between him and his friends!
-Whelp, just thought I should share my thoughts and hopefully we find out soon who this guy really is. Thank you for your time, and keep up the great work!

It burns both PG-chan and me up that we can't really respond to your speculation other than through continuing the comic, but... the fact alone that you've read the comic this closely, and have paid attention to these details? That alone has got to be the best kind of reader someone can ask for. I don't know how to say this very well, but the fact that you've paid attention to these things makes it SO worth it for us, because to me, it shows that you've trusted us to put that much thought into it (and we try. We're trying to refine our skills, and do what we can). Even if your conclusion does/doesn't totally match the story, I'm so glad to read your comments. Thank you SO much for reading! :D

Thanks! The figure and its lineart are on separate layers each. The lineart's got a color fill (white), and the toning below has a custom pattern fill (using photoshop).
