I didn't use a base for this, I actually went to the Pony Creator, and traced the bald pony model, as that better suited my needs than anything. It was a huge help, especially with all the different eye shapes and whatnot.

Anyhow, hello there. It's been quite a while since I've uploaded anything visual art-related. But Jay - known as , was talking to me about character plots and storylines (Which is a colossal topic in and of itself), and it led me down this humongous rabbit hole of stuff I had started, but never finished... this being one of them.
You may or may not remember the last thing I uploaded about this character was this, back in the middle of last year: Rose's New Cutie Mark For Brownies

Well, the day I uploaded that, if not the day before, I started actually drawing the redesign for Rose, as I stated in the description of the cutie mark I posted. And surprise surprise, I forgot all about it and I've let it sit and rot in a flash drive ever since, Lol.

Anyway, the reason this is titled "Up-Outdated Rose Redesign", is because, well... despite this being a totally revamped redesign, it is outdated by this point, because I have since changed her mane and tail once again. And I will probably do so a few more, by the time I consider her " " "C O M P L E T E" " " again. heavy emphasis on all those quotes, please.

So, here's the outdated updated design for Rose's hair. I do not like it.
I mean, well, okay... I like it in isolation. It's not a bad style by itself, but it doesn't do for Rose what I originally WANTED it to do. And this may come as somewhat of a surprise, but I actually studied Usopp's hair from One Piece to perfect her design. It's just, I dunno... His hair is so wavy and obviously poofy and curly, and I looked at it for a real long time and at some point I FINALLY realized: "......... Why have I not drawn Rose's hair like this all this time???"
And to be honest I still have no idea. But regardless, the new new style I'm working on is ten times better to me. It's got a better shape, it's more 'iconic', and it's a better representation of her personality, as I think mane styles and hair types in MLP serve to represent a pony's personality. But that topic is a whole blog entry by itself.
Anyway, expect a somewhat drastic change the next time I post her
