Description
This is a costume grade metal pauldron that I've made up. The design is pretty basic. Pretty sure it shows up in every medieval film ever.

The hope for this was that it would be suitable for LARP style events and boffer combat. It came about from my desire to build a full finger gaunlet for myself out of light gauge metal, but I'd never really worked with the stuff. So I tried something easy to start with. While it's not real pretty and shiny, I do like the hammered look, and plan to explore a little more before creating the gauntlet.

Things I learned:
- You can accomplish much with just a ball peen and a 3 pound hammer....but not quite everything you might want.

- It's better to leave the piece bigger, and then trim the edges. Other wise you have really thin edges, which become potential harm to yourself and others.

- Wear gloves. Just...wear them.

- Pop rivets work just swell for light duty pieces, and they give good practice for rounding the heads with a hammer. You know, before you make the nice brass rivets look like junk.
