Hey! Man, these have been sitting in my dev-watch collecting dust for ages. I'm finally clearing it out though, and I dig this. The robot is very awesome but I particularly dig the cardboard sky and the newspaper metropolis.

robots will always be there for you. your work looks great man keep it comin. if you feel like its getting tired its always cool to do heavy collage (like your newspaper) and then paint on top of it. it helps keep it fresh.

I think overall this is a very effective piece of yours PJ. I can see several aspects of this work where I can see, as do others, that you are improving and branching out on several levels even within your own 'style.'
First off the shading is fierce, and I don't know if I can handle, after seeing this one, another piece of yours without shading. I think it adds much more character to the robot and I like how the blend creates a texture, rather than a flat steel look. Also, you've done very well with your shadows, I.E. the mid section being much darker, and the shadow of the hand on his right leg. That being said, there are some things that needs some work with shading. I think the legs in general could use a bit more contrast in places, to look more like the upper body and left arm.
Continuing on shading and depth, I think it works very well to make the clouds and newspaper so 'flat.' I think you show that you are doing this on purpose, rather than having them chill in the background by throwing the cloud in the foreground. Despite this technically being in front of the robot, it shows that you deliberately made the rest of the objects without depth/shading, and in turn makes the robot stand out even more as the focal/badass-shading point.
The structure of the robot is very well throughout, with the arrows of the body, abdomen, as well as the "in yo' face" arrow on his body. To me, although I can't imagine an artist would make this message, it creates a pro-capitalism message. The robot <3ing, with alluding arrows pointing to the high rise, stock painted skyline, creates this message for me. Or he might just be a robot-exec with that well drawn gesture of proposal.
I don't like the newspaper, at least how it is right now. I like your choice on what's on the newspaper and I think it might have helped to only have the stock numbers and not the sub-head at the top right. The orientation of the text versus the orientation of the buildings, I think clashes too much. The object the paper creates is hindered by the text not being in the same direction as the structure. But mostly, I do not like the lighter color in the background against an already light robot. Granted I know you're using it as an "as is" medium, but I think if you would have inverted the paper (black background/white text) it would have looked suburb and would have worked much better for me.
As always, I think the cardboard is great, and you couldn't purposely make better cuts on the edge, to create the perfect looking border.
Nice job PJ, and keep up the rockstar progression in your work.

I like the rough blending, it's a nice contrast to the clean, smooth outlines. Great job!
